Nungu time (naked time) is one my favorite rituals we do with Sajan. Every afternoon for 15 minutes we let him hang out nungu on a light blue doggy pee pad. The original idea was to let some air up in there to help prevent diaper rash. Which succeeded! But what we didn’t expect, and ended up being much more fun, is how happy Sajan is during his bare-bum break.
We find that he’s more smiley, more yappy, and more active during nungu time. Across the board he’s a more playful baby without the constraints of clothes and diapers. Over the past month we had been nudging him to roll, a far easier task when he’s got that pep. It seems that this freedom — freedom to just be loose as he came — is fundamental. Diapers add pressure, rigidity, and still may still feel foreign. This is his way of saying: let me be freeeee!
